Chris grew up in Glasgow and Sue in the Scottish Borders. They lived and worked in Edinburgh for 40 years, and realised a long held dream when they relocated to Orkney in 2011.

My degree from Edinburgh University was in English Literature with Mediaeval Studies. This included a year of archaeology and Scottish History and even a little Old Norse - all ideal for guiding in Orkney with its viking history and some of the best archaeology in Britain.

When based in Edinburgh my guiding work took me all over Scotland.   Now living in Orkney, I can indulge my passions for history and archaeology, and my past experiences help to place Orkney in its wider context of Scotland and the world.

But my tours are not just about history - there is a mix of folklore, landscape, wild life and what it is like living in Orkney today - all leavened with a bit of humour.  Orkney is a brilliant place to live and I hope to show you just why I this is so.

My background was in Civil Engineering. I have been a private hire driver for the last 20 years. For most of that time I was based in Edinburgh and I drove clients all over Scotland.

I am fully registered and insured with Orkney Islands Council as a private hire driver, and can carry up to 6 passengers.
